CSC Services are exhibiting at Bridges 2019, the 27th Annual Conference and Exhibition for those involved in the bridge sector. The event takes place on Thursday 14th March at The Ricoh Arena in Coventry.

Carbonation, free/thaw cycling and chloride attack from de-icing salts are just some of the factors contributing to the deterioration and corrosion of bridges across the UK. As a specialist contractor CSC Services provides a comprehensive asset maintenance service. CSC Services offers a range of services from traditional concrete repairs, to the installation of cathodic protection systems and structural strengthening systems.

To protect against the elements and ensure the expected design life of bridges can be achieved, the latest anti-carbonation coatings can be installed. Such weatherproof coatings protect against the ingress of carbon dioxide, oxygen and water.

CSC Services can also install a rust mitigating coating system to protect steel structures from crevice corrosion. Crevice corrosion refers to the attack of metal surfaces around the edges of nuts and rivet heads, and beneath steel plates, side barings and fasteners. When left untreated, crevice corrosion can create serious structural problems. This coating system will neutralise the acid in the crevice corroded joint; and stop corrosion on the surface of the steel.  The system can be applied wet-on-wet and requires only minimal surface preparation to remove only loose paint and debris.  It is therefore significantly quicker to install than traditional coatings which will only mask the problem short term.

CSC Services work in partnership with many of the leading coatings and mortar manufacturers including Flexcrete, Sika and Mapei, undertaking all relevant product and application training. CSC Services are a member of the Concrete Repair Association, are Quality Approved Contractors for the Sika Liquid Plastics range of products and hold Constructionline Gold level membership.
